HARP in cooperation with the Department of Tourism offers the following on-the-job skills enhancement programs:

1. Mabuhay Host Program - A one-day course on human resources development and total quality service management, specifically designed for front-line personnel in the hospitality industry where participants are taught myriad of skills on human beviour understanding, conflict management, and managing solutions. Program is open to front office and bell service personnel, waiters and waitresses, among others.

2. Tourist Reception and Tour Guiding Techniques - A three-day course on handling tours and tourists, techniques and right conduct in tour guiding including a short course on the history and culture of a local community. The program ends with a short practicum on actual tour guiding (mock tour) and preparation of tour script for the use of successful graduates in the conduct of tours.

3. Bell Service and Housekeeping Service - Both programs provide education on quality service management, human relations development, conflict and solutions management, and on-the-job training on bell service and housekeeping. The course may be taken in three-days.

4. Hotel and Restaurant Management - A three-day program that provides lessons on management of people, facilities and services including introductory knowledge on rules and regulations governing the operation of tourism-related establishments.

5. Seminar on Tourism-related Laws and Regulations - A one-day seminar on applicable laws and regulations affecting the basic operation of tourism-related establishments, their personnel and guests when issues and conflicts are bound to rise in the course of operation. The seminar includes discussions on the pertinent provisions of criminal and civil laws, rules and regulations governing the operations of hotels, restaurants and other accredited ones.

6. Special courses on tourism and travel may be conducted upon request.
